How many sponges are needed to ensure proper hygiene?

The number of sponges required depends on the patient’s general condition and specific hygiene needs.

When used correctly, a single sponge containing enough soap can provide a complete body shower or bath without additional assistance.

However, we generally recommend:

  • One sponge for the body and extremities

  • One additional sponge for intimate areas

For bedridden patients, 3 or 4 sponges may be required depending on the hygiene protocol being followed.
